13) Ohio State 48, Utah 45:
— Buckeyes kicked FG with 0:09 left for the win.
— Smith-Njigba caught 15 passes for 347 yards, most receiving yards EVER in a bowl.
— Utah led 35-21 at halftime.
— Pac-12 finishes 0-5 SU in bowl games this year. 

12) Oklahoma State 37, Notre Dame 35:
— Notre Dame led 28-14 at halftime.
— Irish threw 68 passes, ran ball 21 times.
— Most passes they threw this year under Kelly: 46 vs Cincinnati.
— Notre Dame was 11-20 on third down, Cowboys 3-12. 

11) Kentucky 20, Iowa 17:
— Wildcats scored game-winning TD with 1:48 left.
— Kentucky led this game 13-3 at halftime.
— Iowa ran for 173 yards, threw three INT’s (-2 in TO’s).
— Kentucky finishes season 10-3. 

10) Arkansas 24, Penn State 10:
— Hogs outscored Penn State 17-0 in second half.
— Arkansas ran ball 58 times for 353 yards.
— Arkansas ran 78 plays, Nittany Lions 63.
— Penn State completed only 15-35 passes.

9) Baylor 21, Ole Miss 7:
— Ole Miss QB Corral hurt his leg in first quarter, didn’t return.
— Only score of first half: Baylor’s 97-yard pick-6 in 2nd quarter.
— Ole Miss was 6-22 on 3rd down, 5-7 on 4th down.
— Baylor completed only 7-17 passes for 40 yards. 

8) Creighton 75, Marquette 69, 2OT:
— Creighton led by 17 early in second half.
— Bluejays hit 3-pointer at buzzer to force the second OT.
— Creighton took 19 foul shots, Marquette only 7 (at home)

7) Baylor 77, Iowa State 72:
— Baylor wins battle of unbeatens to open Big X play.
— Iowa State was 1-14 on arc; they shot 62% inside arc.
— Two guys on Baylor scored double figures off bench. 

6) Villanova 73, Seton Hall 67:
— Seton Hall had only 8 players available; 2 of them fouled out.
— Villanova out-rebounded the Pirates 42-28.
— Seton Hall was +9 in turnovers (17-8). 

5) San Diego State 62, UNLV 55:
— Aztecs have now won 18 of last 20 series games.
— San Diego State is now 32-4 SU in last 36 Mountain West games.
— UNLV shot 29.7% from floor; they’re 0-6 vs top 100 teams. 

4) It is tiring listening to TV guys say “this team is well-coached” because they never, ever say which teams aren’t well-coached. Obviously, some coaches are better than others.

Just once, I’d like a TV analyst to say, “This guy is a hell of a recruiter, but his game coaching could use some work.”

Players win games, so if you have a really talented roster and keep your tactics simple, you’ll win your fair share of games. 

3) On Opening Night of the NBA this season, players had an average age of 26.1 years, the youngest the NBA has ever been. 

2) Looking at the top six conferences in college basketball, totaling 76 teams, only four of those schools didn’t take in a transfer this season:

UConn, Purdue, Stanford, Villanova.
