— Baseball Note of the Day: Seattle signed C/DH Mitch Garver as a free agent: he started 40 of the Rangers’ last 43 games LY, and hit .283 with 14 homers and a .937 OPS from August 1 on, which is really good for a catcher. Bonus here is that Garver is a DH more than he catches, so he is less likely to wear down as the season goes on.
